This month the team were proud recipients of a Chairman's Award from Ecclesfield Parish Council, in recognition of the work we did for the community in 2010. This was our 'centenary year' commemorating the visit of Cecil Sharp to Grenoside in 1910, for which we organised a range of events in Grenoside village and the surrounding community.
The Chairman's Awards are presented to residents of the Parish who have either worked tirelessly for the benefit of others in the community or who have made outstanding achievements.
One of our captains, Gerry Bates, accepted the award on behalf of the team.
Grenoside sword dancers Ray Ellison and Joe Dunn have previously been recognised for their community efforts.
See the photos of the acceptance of the awards on the Ecclesfield Parish Council website.
